CarnEstablished in 1973, Carndonagh Community School is a product of the amalgamation of the Diocesan College, Mercy Convent and Vocational School.

The school opened with 800 pupils but expanded in the 1980s and 1990s to become the largest secondary school in the Republic of Ireland. The current pupil population is approximately 900, joined by 70 teaching staff. The physical development of the school kept pace to ensure that the pupils always had the best possible facilities and opportunities. CCS has a rich sporting history. Recent developments will insure that sport, health and fitness remain among the school’s priorities. Phase I of the Sports Development Project - Gaelic Pitch and All-Weather Pitch – was completed in 2004 and Phase II  - Athletics Track and Soccer Pitch -  in 2007.

Carndonagh Community School is a co-educational, multi-denominational school which provides an enriching and caring environment for the academic, moral, spiritual, physical and social development of its students. The school ethos is Christian and each individual is respected and guaranteed access to the educational facilities at the school.

We at Carndonagh Community School believe in the Power of education.
